The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday swore in the elected chairmen from the 57 local government areas and local council development areas who won at the poll in the Saturday election.Sanwo-Olu, during the swearing-in ceremony at the Lagos House, Ikeja, urged the new chairmen and vice chairmen to prioritise the welfare of the electorates.
“The only way you can reciprocate this trust is to give your best and ensure that the welfare and well-being of your people take precedence in all your decisions.” LASIEC Chairman, Justice Ayotunde Phillips, while presenting the certificates at the commission’s office in Yaba, urged those who lost at the polls to be gracious in defeat.She said, “I wish to congratulate all the candidates who participated in the exercise and their teams and I urge all contestants to bury the hatchet and to be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.”
