President Bola Tinubu has written the Senate , seeking the repeal of the Access to Higher Education Act, 2023, otherwise known as the Student Loan Act , and a re-enactment of a fresh one. Mr Tinubu’s action is coming a day after the announcement of a temporary suspension of the commencement of the student loan system.
The law was put in place to allow Nigerian students in tertiary institutions to access low interest loans to complete their studies.
