Present evidence to reclaim impounded vehicles, Zamfara police tell Matawalle

Ex-Zamfara State Governor, Bello MatawalleFollowing the reaction of former Governor Bello Matawalle that the vehicles impounded by the security agents in his residences were his personal properties, the Zamfara State Police Command has urged him to produce evidence and reclaim the vehicles belonging to him.

THE PUNCH reported on Sunday that Matawalle claimed that the majority of the vehicles taken away by the security agencies from his two houses in Gusau and Maradun last Friday were procured by him before he became a Governor. But in a press statement, the Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command SP Yazid Abubakar said those who felt that their vehicles were wrongfully impounded were advised to produce proof of ownership to claim such vehicles.

Abubakar said, “Persons who feel their vehicles were wrongfully taken while executing search warrants during the course of this investigation are advised to produce proof of ownership to claim such vehicles”. Abubakar maintained that investigations into the issue of the missing vehicles were still ongoing. He called on the general public who have useful information about the missing vehicles to come forward to assist the security agents.
