Pope names Adesina Bishop of Ijebu-Ode vanguardngr.com vanguardnews
Before his appointment as Bishop Adesina was a priest of Osogbo Diocese and currently the Rector of the Major Seminary of Saints Peter and Paul in Ibadan.
His ordination and installation as Bishop is scheduled to hold on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the main bowl of St. Anthony’s Nursery and Primary School, Igbeba Road, Ijebu-Ode.His ordination and installation will be done by the Apostolic Nuncio and representative of Pope Francis, Antonio Guido Filipazzi.
Other religious persons, Cardinals, Bishops, the governor of Ogun State, the governor-elect, Awujale of Ijebuland and a host of others are expected to grace the occasion. Reverend Father Francis Obafemi Adesina, who has held several pastoral positions in his diocese of Osogbo, was born in Wenchi, Ghana on January 28, 1964. He has a Nigerian citizenship and completed his priestly studies in philosophy and theology at the Major Seminary of Saints Peter and Paul in Ibadan.
