Oyo State Police Command on Sunday warned politicians that it would not fold its arms and allow the state to relapse into bloodshed.
This followed the eruption of violence across the 33 local governments and 35 local council development areas over the struggle for the control of local government administration between the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressive Congress .
In the statement titled: “Re- local government administration leadership tussle in Oyo state: An appeal for caution against bloodshed”, Olukolu admonished the stakeholders to reach deep and think deep to give peace a chance. “The stakeholders are, therefore, advised to sheathe their swords and give peace a chance. More so, as the absence of the workers of the local governments in the office will not allow any of the contending interest to achieve any tangible or concrete developments in the prevailing circumstance.
“The commissioner of police therefore wishes to admonish the stakeholders to reach deep and think deep to give peace a chance in Oyo State where social economic development will thrive while giving the police a conducive atmosphere to deal with the common criminals in our midst as the patience of the security agency is not permanently inelastic.
