Niger State Police Command has rescued seven abducted persons and arrested two suspects.
The PPRO said the suspects confessed further that the kidnapped victims were kept at Gwalo forest and the DPO mobilised and combed the Gwalo forest between Lambata and Kafin-Koro areas which resulted in their arrest.
“The tactical teams had a gun battle with the abductors in the forest, while the hoodlums escaped from the hideout and abandoned seven victims; six males and one female at the scene,” he stated. He said the victims were rescued unhurt and taken to hospital for medical attention while another kidnapper was arrested in Mokwa LGA.
The police spokesman said in the process of combing the nearby forest around the village, one Mohamed Bello of Bate-Ukpo village, Mokwa was arrested with one locally fabricated gun and a cutlass and during interrogation, the suspect confessed that he conspired with one Dogo Yellow and Dogo Mai-Saje, both presently at large to kidnap a person in the village.
