The Nation Newspaper Police nab suspected kidnapper at ransom collection point
Police Command have nabbed 32-year-old Roland Raymond, a resident of Detti village in Ganye Local Government Area, for allegedly attempting to collect money from a man he threatened to kidnap.
Raymond is charged with the offense of criminal intimidation associated with kidnapping by forcing his target to pay money to avoid being kidnapped. The suspect was arrested following a report by one Abraham Paul who raised the alarm that the suspect phoned and demanded N600,000 from him if he wished not to be kidnapped.
A statement from the Adamawa Police Command said upon receipt of the complaint, the police in Ganye Division, in collaboration with hunters, arrested the suspect at the point of collecting the N600,000.Signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, the statement assured that the suspect will be charged to court.
