Delta State Police Command has nabbed the prime suspect alleged to have killed 50-year-old pepper seller at Umeh Village, Isoko North Local Council of the state.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect, one Akpoghene Idogo, a shoemaker, said he was arrested at his hideout somewhere in Kwale area of the state.

The Police had earlier arrested Akpoghene’s accomplice, one Onos Simon over the murder of the pepper trader, Mrs. Patience Komore. According to the Police spokesman, the suspects confessed to raping the woman and robbing her of N40,000 before killing her with a machete, removed her eye and private parts for ritual purpose.

“The suspects also confessed that one Lucky Daniel of Oghoro town contracted them to bring the body parts for him after paying them N100, 000,” Edafe said. He also said efforts were on to arrest other conspirators, now on the run.
