The Nigeria Police command in Akwa Ibom, says it has arrested four suspected kidnappers dressed in military uniform and rescued their victims.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Timfon John, disclosed this in a statement in Uyo on Sunday.

John said that the suspects were arrested while attempting to kidnap a man identified as Richie, a friend of their earlier victim. John said that one red colour Honda Accord car with registration number BJ 615 ABC, a handcuff and dagger were recovered from the suspects. Tomato prices have surged by over 100% in just the past month in Lagos and across other states. This sudden price increase is predicted to threaten the upcoming Eid El-Kabir celebrations, where jollof rice, a dish heavily reliant on tomatoes, is a staple.
