The clash was as a result of impounding of tricycle allegedly belonging to army personnel over alleged traffic light control violation.
A section of the media had reported alleged clash between the police and soldiers around Udensi roundabout axis of Abakaliki, the Ebonyi capital.
But, DSP Loveth Odah, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer , in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Abakaliki, described the report as shocking, spurious and misleading. “The suspect called the soldier who came and demanded to know why the tricycle was impounded by the official.
“The officer-in-charge of the State Anti-Robbery Squad who was passing by and witnessed the incident, had to stop and settle the problem there and then.“The Acting Commissioner of Police did not go there neither did the Canton Commander of the Nkwegu Military Cantonment.
