The search will use of a military aircraft to search from the air as poor weather conditions have made it too difficult to reach on the ground.The RCMP said there's no information to indicate the two teens left the area, but authorities were still exploring the possibility that the suspects may have inadvertently received assistance.
"It is possible that someone may not have been aware of who they were providing assistance to, and may now be hesitant to come forward," a RCMP spokeswoman said.The teens were seen in the town last week, with investigators also scouring a rugged terrain for clues on their whereabouts. Early Sunday, police tweeted a photo of a polar bear spotted during the search about 200 kilometers north of Gillam.
A Royal Canadian Air Force Hercules is assisting with the aerial search as police knock on doors in Gillam and Fox Lake Cree Nation over the next few days. Until authorities confirm another sighting that indicates they’ve moved on elsewhere, resources will remain devoted to this tiny town."RCMP officers remain in the community of York Landing & continue to investigate the reported sighting of the two suspects.AAP and CNN contributed to this report.
