Ekiti police command says its operatives have apprehended two men for allegedly stealing diesel used for powering street lights in the state.
In a statement on Wednesday, Sunday Abutu, the command’s spokesperson, said one of the suspects was arrested on Tuesday night by officers of the rapid response squad in the state.
He added that the accused also confessed to having stolen the diesel from the government generator powering the street lights along the axis.The police spokesperson further stated that the suspect mentioned the name of another person, who was subsequently arrested for his alleged involvement in the crime.He urged residents of the state to be security conscious and take ownership of government properties around them.of eight suspects alleged to be involved in several bank robberies in the state.
