Akwa Ibom State Police Command said it has arrested the suspected armed robbery syndicate terrorising the people of Ikot Abasi Local Government Area of the state. In a release by the Command's Public Relations Officer, ASP Timfon John, on Saturday, the operatives made the arrest on July 1, while some gang members remained at large.

While noting that efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing members of the gang; John said the suspects have confessed to the crime and would be charged to court upon completion of investigations. She added, 'The command has arrested three armed robbery syndicate in Ikot Abasi village. One locally-made pistol was recovered from them.
