Nigerian singer, Azeez Adeshina Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley, has reportedly been detained by the Lagos state police command for flouting movement restrictions to attend a concert in Abuja.
Police spokesperson Bala Elkana revealed that the singer was arrested over the concert, which had flouted the safety guidelines put in place by the federal government to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria. He said, “We are in court as we speak. He will be arraigned for violating the interstate travel order. That is the aspect that concerns Lagos State.”
It would be recalled that Marley and former BBNaija housemate, Kim Oprah, were airlifted to Abuja by a charter and aircraft maintenance firm, Executive Jet Services, for the concert amidst a ban put in place against flight operation in the country.
