At least 30 persons have been arrested over an alleged attempt to disrupt the recently conducted mass wedding in Kano state.the wedding of 1,800 couples in the state and paid the sum of N50,000 as dowry on behalf of the grooms to the brides.
Gumel said most of the suspects arrested are from neighbouring states with the plan to disrupt the mass wedding, while some attended for the purpose of stealing vehicles.“I assure you that Kano is safe and it will continue to be safe. During the mass wedding over the weekend, some people wanted to disrupt the event, but we did not allow that to happen,” NAN quoted Gumel as saying.
“Some of them came with master keys with the intention to steal vehicles, but their plans were aborted.“You saw how we were able to secure lives and properties during the big event. Nobody complained; that is to show you that we are on track.”
