The police, on Monday, arraigned a 32-year-old man, Bello Ismaila, before an Ado Ekiti Chief Magistrates' Court for allegedly receiving
The police prosecutor, Insp Sodiq Adeniyi, alleged in court that the defendants committed the offence on June 3 at about noon at Lane 9 Ifesowapo Area, Bovas Junction in Ado Ekiti.
Adeniyi said, “The defendants stole drinkers, feeders, galvanised nets, and feeding trays valued at N100,000 belonging to one Falade-Daf Tayo. He alleged that the defendants unlawfully entered the house of the complainant by jumping the fence into the compound, saying, “The offences contravened Sections 302 and 65 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021”.But the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them as their counsel, Mr Opeyemi Esan, urged the court to grant them bail, with assurances that they would not jump bail.
The magistrate, Dolapo Babalogbon, granted bail to the defendants in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties each in like sum and adjourned the case till Aug. 2 for hearing.All rights reserved.
