The Police on Thursday arraigned a 47-year-old man identified as Raphael Okuwe before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court, Osogbo for allegedly transporting 12bags of Indian hemp and parading himself as Deputy Superintendent of the Nigeria Police.The prosecutor, John Idoko said the accused person was arrested on 6th of May, 2020 around 9:40 AM at Oke-Imesi junction, Esa Oke, Osun State.

According to the prosecutor, “The accused person without lawful authority had in his possession twelve bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp otherwise known as cannabis, Narcotic drug and falsely present himself as Deputy Superintendent of the Nigeria Police.He noted that the offence committed contravened Section 430 and 109 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.The defence counsel, Mr.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Olusegun Ayilara admitted the accused person to bail with a sum of N500,000 with two sureties and adjourned the case to 9/7/2020 for mention.
