The Kano Police Command has apprehended 148 suspects amongst whom are106 deadly political thugs. A suspect who allegedly killed a police officer two years ago in Kano is among the suspects arrested by the Command during a clean-up operation, according to the Command Spokesperson, CPS Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.
Speaking, Thursday while parading the suspects at the premises of the Command, CPS Kiyawa, noted that the Police remain resolute in ensuring peace and stability fully return to Kano and all criminal elements are taken out. 'The Police in Kano remain resolute in its commitment to combating Thuggery and other criminal activities and will spare no efforts in ensuring the Safety and Security of all Residents', Kiyawa warned.
'The Commissioner led targeted operations to the identified trouble spots within the affected areas resulting in the arrest of 146 suspects among who are 106 deadly thugs causing violence and other dastardly acts resulting in killing and maiming of innocent lives. Similarly, the PPRO explained that 25 armed robbers, 2 suspected kidnappers, 3 suspected drug dealers, 3 car thieves and 10 other thieves were arrested in the last 10 days of his assumption of office.
