KEPALA BATAS: Police have advised the public not to speculate over the incident where a detainee was found hanged at the North Seberang Prai district headquarters lock-up on Friday (Nov 22).
Seberang Prai Utara OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor said police are currently conducting an internal investigation on the matter to determine if there was negligence."Let the police conduct a thorough investigation," he said when contacted.
He vowed that the police would conduct a fair investigation and not hesitate to take action if any criminal element was found. The deceased, a 29-year-old gravedigger, had been detained under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952 with his 38-year-old friend.
