The Philippine National Police (PNP) is now crafting a policy that would focus on reformation of the policemen who were meted with punishments for wrongdoings.
PNP Officer-In-Charge Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa said that there was a need to come up with preventive and reformative measures for erring policemen in order to ensure that they would not become repeat offenders.
More than 3,000 policemen have been dismissed from the service for various offenses that included involvement in illegal drugs since July 2016. Of the figure, more or less 450 of them were dismissed due to drugs involvement.Thousands of policemen were also meted with lesser penalties such as demotion and suspension for lesser offenses.
