The ongoing labour strike has grounded commercial operations at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. This left passengers stranded
on Monday morning.
A nationwide industrial action was declared by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, following the federal government’s failure to meet the demands of Organized Labour on minimum wage. Vanguard reports that passengers were left confused and unable to reach the domestic terminal as major entry and exit points have been blocked.
Also, Vanguard reports that no flight had taken off, and this would remain so until the NLC lifts the strike action. The airport is currently becoming too crowded as more passengers, in their numbers, are arriving the Abuja airport to catch up with their flights.
