Heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds in parts of Accra, Ghana’s capital, have sent billboards careening into busy roads.Two billboards mounted at the Korle Bu road collapsed few metres apart.
No casualties were recorded and police officers from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department arrived at the scene to control traffic.The development comes about a week after heavy rains with equally strong winds blew billboards down and fell some traffic lights in Accra.Heavy rains have been recorded across the continent this season, claiming hundreds of lives and displacing thousands.
