Nigeria's independent online newspaper
Senate President Godswill Akpabio is currently in Luanda, capital of Angola, for the 147th inter-parliamentary union assembly.
Akpabio led a delegation of four senators and five members of the house of representatives. The event commenced on October 21 and will end on October 27. Anietie Ekong, media aide to Akpabio, quoted the number three citizen as saying that it would have been a disservice if Nigeria did not attend the assembly.
“It would have been a disservice to Africa if Nigeria did not have a strong delegation at the IPU. Our presence here is to ensure that our bilateral relationship is strengthened,” Ekong quoted Akpabio as saying.“With our presence we can forge a strong bilateral parliamentary relationship for the interest of our nations.”
