Abba Kyari, the suspended deputy commissioner of police, was warmly welcomed by members of his family and friends after his release from the Kuje Custodial Centre on Friday.
On March 7, 2022, Kyari was arraigned alongside Sunday Ubia, Bawa James, Simon Agirigba, and John Nuhu, members of the police intelligence response team . On May 22, 2024, Emeka Nwite, the presiding judge, granted Kyari a two-week bail to allow him to partake in the burial rites of his mother, Yachilla Kyari, who died on May 5.
