The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has a new Commissioner of Police, Peter Opara, following approval by the Police Service Commission (PSC).

The appointment was confirmed on Saturday, September 14, in a statement by Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations at the PSC. Before his new role, CP Opara was the Commissioner of Police at the Force Secretary’s Office. He also served as the Deputy Commissioner of Administration and Finance for Imo State Command. He held several key positions, including Personal Assistant to the former Chairman of the Police Service Commission, IGP Mike Okiro .
In addition to Opara’s posting, the PSC has also approved replacing CP Miller Gagere Dantawaye with CP Festus Eribo as the new Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State.
