A socio-political activist, Comrade Obiora Omeje has declared that the inauguration of Barr Peter Mbah as the Governor of Enugu State remains sacrosanct.

He said whereas protest was a constitutional right of the citizens, it had nothing to do with the inauguration of the Governor-elect.

Omeje, an Advocate for good governance and member of the Abuja School of Socio-Political Thought, said the swearing-in of the Governor-elect is constitutional. He said, “protest is the fundamental right of Ndi Enugu; the right to protest is provided in the law; the people should be allowed to express themselves.

“However, such protest should not truncate the process; the courts are there for aggrieved politicians to ventilate their anger.Related Topics:
