The Governor of Cross River State, Prof.

Ben Ayade, has said he is delighted that peace is returning to the southern part of Cameroon, as this will facilitate the return of refugees from the area to their communities.

He stated this while receiving a delegation of consular officials on Friday, led by the Cameroonian Consul-General in Calabar, Mr Onono Patrice, at the Governor’s Office. The governor said, “I am happy to hear that your country is making efforts for peace to return to those two major provinces. The international view about what is happening in Cameroon is not good for the black man.

“It is our duty and responsibility to actively provide a shoulder for your refugees, your own citizens who are here to find comfort.” Speaking earlier, Patrice told Ayade that he came to inform him that the governor of that country’s South-West region wished to visit the state. All rights reserved.
