PDP Slams Tinubu's 2025 Budget as 'Hopeless' and 'Anti-People'The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu's 2025 budget proposal, labeling it as 'hopeless' and 'anti-people'. The party expressed concerns that the budget will exacerbate insecurity, poverty, and hopelessness in Nigeria. The PDP argues that the budget lacks sufficient investment in crucial sectors like agriculture, electricity, petroleum, and small businesses. They also dispute the President's claims of a high budget performance rate and improved economic growth, calling them 'bogus' and 'ludicrous'. The PDP further criticizes the lack of transparency in the budget, as President Tinubu did not disclose the Capital and Recurrent profiles. The party predicts that the budget will lead to higher taxes, a further decline in the Naira's value, increased unemployment and inflation, and push millions more Nigerians into poverty. They urge the National Assembly to reject the proposed budget and make necessary revisions to prioritize the economic growth and well-being of Nigerians.
