A founding member and Board of Trustees member of the Peoples Democratic Party , Adamu Waziri, has resigned from the party and joined the African Democratic Congress .
He said his decision was based on national interest and the urgent need to restore credibility to Nigeria’s democratic institutions. He said the tone and direction of the PDP had strayed from its founding principles, adding that a new movement was needed to reinvigorate democracy and promote good governance.
Responding to his resignation, Muhammad Bomai, who represented the PDP ward chairman, described Waziri’s exit as a significant loss.
