PBS president Maximus Ongkili with senior party leaders at their Supreme Council meeting in Penampang today.
Ongkili said PBS appreciated the invitation but had decided to give it a miss as it had its own plans to focus on. “But we have no intention of joining their charter. We wish them the best but we’ll move on our own,” he said after his party’s Supreme Council meeting in Penampang near here today. The Umno-PAS national unity charter, signed by the party presidents on Sept 14, seeks to uphold the interest of the Malays, Islam as the official religion, and Malay as the national language.
