Daud Olatunji, Abeokuta An unidentified female passer-by was on Saturday burnt to death in a petroleum product tanker fire in the Lotto area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the crash on Sunday.He said an eyewitness told operatives of the corps that the driver of the fuel-laden tanker lost control while on motion and hit a barrier on the road.

According to Akinbiyi, the content of the tanker began gushing out and after a while, it caught fire and the two other parked vehicles were burnt in the process.Akinbiyi said the driver of the tanker managed to escape from the inferno.Copyright PUNCH.
