Oyo confirms high COVID-19 cases in Nigeria, records two deaths

Recall that the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, had identified Oyo, Lagos and Abuja as States with the highest cases of the virus so far.The State Governor, Seyi Makinde who confirmed the development on Twitter also said Twenty-two patients were discharged on Friday.

Makinde also disclosed that the State recorded two COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the number of fatalities to 24. “Twenty-two confirmed COVID-19 cases received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 1146.“The cases are from Iseyin , Lagelu , Ibarapa Central , Egbeda , Oyo East , Ibadan North , Orelope , Afijio , Ona Ara , Ogbomosho South , Ogbomosho North , Ido , Ibadan North West , Oluyole , Atiba , Oyo West ,Ibadan South West , Ibadan North East , Akinyele and Ibadan South East Local Government Areas.
