Ahead of the judgment of the Supreme Court on the Osun State governorship tussle scheduled to be delivered next Friday , an Abuja-based civil society group, the Guardian of Democracy and Development I

nitiative, has alleged that some persons particularly top politicians have been dropping President Muhammadu Buhari’s name in their bid to influence the apex court’s verdict.

“As a civil society group with deep interest in the protection and deepening of our democratic culture, we view with trepidation ongoing moves to harass and intimidate the judiciary on Osun government judgment. “We have also read in many publications the declaration of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammed to do justice no matter whose ox is gored.

The Director, Media and Publicity of the group, Danehi Momoh, urged Buhari to caution those alleged to be trying to use his name to derail the judiciary, and also urged the Supreme Court “to do justice in respect of the Osun State governorship election no matter whose ox is gored.”
