A community-based group, Ifon-Orolu Progressive Union (IPU) has said the purported gazette and ceding of some major parts of Olufon land to Irepodun land in
The matter is currently a subject of litigation at the Osun State High Court in Osogbo, the state capital.
President of IPU Mohammed Oyedeji, made the remarks in a statement titled: “Pot of Lies and Distortion Of Facts By Ilobu Community” where he said the administration of former governor Rauf Aregbesola made an administrative error and created confusion through state legal notice No. 9 of 2014 published in Osun State of Nigeria Gazette No. 1 Vol. 24 dated 13 September, 2014.
He said the legal notice ceded some major parts of Olufon’s land to Irepodun without the consent of Olufon and Ifon communities. He said, “The fact is that during the All progressives Congress administration led by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola , the administration made an administrative error and caused confusion through State Legal Notice No. 9 of 2014 published in Osun State of Nigeria Gazette No. 1 Vol. 24 dated 13/10/2014.
“The gazette ceded some major part of Olufon’s land to Irepodun without the proper consent of Olufon and Ifon Community. The unfair decision was challenged at the High Court of Osun State in Suit NO: HOS/40/15. Olufon and Ifon were not satisfied with the judgment, and an appeal was filed by Olufon and Orolu local government at the Court of Appeal in Akure.
