The APC in a statement by its Acting Chairman, Mr. Tajudeen Lawal obtained in Osogbo on Monday, said the decision by the state governor to dismiss the teachers was incorrect, insisting that the employees were sacked unjustly.
“Since those recruited teachers are indigenes of Osun State and were duly employed during the statutory tenure of his predecessor, Governor Adeleke has no reason not to reconsider his earlier mistake of relieving the innocent teachers of their employment.”
But while reacting, the spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed said the government was aware of the vacancies in Osun schools, adding that staff auditing across the state public service had already commenced with a plan to fill up existing vacancies within the education, health, and other sub-sectors in the state.
Rasheed said Adeleke had earlier issued a directive for the collation of vacancies for teachers in the state, noting that the audit report will provide a strong foundation for the recruitment of new teachers and health workers in the state. All rights reserved.
