Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police, Adekunle Omoyele (rtd) as the new Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps.
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police, Adekunle Omoyele as the new Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps . The appointment of Omoyele comes after the expiration of the tenure of Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi who was appointed Corps Commander by former governor Adegboyega Oyetola. The announcement was made by Governor Adeleke's spokesperson in a statement on Thursday.
' The statement revealed that, 'Amotekun is a security network jointly formed by all South-West governors. 'It was set up to complement the efforts of other federal security agencies to tackle crimes in the South West zone.' DAILY POST recalls that Amitolu Shittu, the Field Commander of the security outfit resigned in 2023, some months after Governor Adeleke assumed office.
