Opinion: Roe v. Wade is dead, and Democrats need to finally send their anti-choice members packing

Wade was struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court, Friday, June 24, 2022, in Houston.Meanwhile, national Democrats continue to ignore pro-choice, down-ballot candidates running in state and local races across the country, even though that’s exactly where these anti-choice attacks originate: in state houses and local municipalities.

But the entrenched Democratic establishment seems hell-bent on forgetting the lesson that won them the presidency in 2020: You have to shore up your base by leaning into the issues they care about. We don’t need conservative, anti-choice Democrats to maintain our majority or pass President Biden’s agenda. In fact, Cuellar has been staunchly opposed to Democratic priorities even outside the issue of abortion.
