‘Operation Sting’ recovers arms from make-shift shop in Rivers
It was gathered that the operatives of the Operation Sting attached to the Rumuorlumeni Police Division stormed the shop made of caravan and made the recovery.
The operatives were said to have stormed the area and shot sporadically into the air to scare residents so they could carry out their operation. An eyewitness told DAILY POST that, “The squad arrived in three operations vans, entered the shop and brought out some arms and ammunitions and later took the owner of the shop away after firing some gun shots on air.”
A senior police officer at Rumuolumeni Police Station who also confirmed the incident said two AK 47, magazines, one locally made pistol and an axe were recovered during the raid. The officer said the woman who is the owner of the shop is in detention, while investigations have commenced on the arms recovery.
