And in one of those two sectors – healthcare – the proportion of female managers employed by blue-chip companies is low compared with the number of women who work in the industry.
The data captured women in professional and managerial roles in 123 of Australia’s largest listed companies, as of March 2021. Flight Centre head of people and culture Allisa O’Connell said the travel group had not imposed targets at the manager level, but did impose a target to raise the number of women in senior executive roles. The target is to ensure 50 per cent of all applicants for senior executive positions are women, while the interviewing panel needs to have a gender mix.“Women need role models.
