An eyewitness said: “The brake of a tanker fully loaded failed and rammed into an inter-state Mazda bus.
The Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency , Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said that two persons were severely injured in the accident, which occurred at about 8:30a.m. Oke-Osanyintolu said that the agency’s officials immediately raced to the scene to rescue the victims and remove the vehicles from the road to ease traffic.
According to him, a female adult lost her life to the accident, while a male adult and a child got injured. He said that the body of the deceased had been taken to a mortuary, while the injured were being treated. Six persons were critically injured include a boy of about nine-year-old, one woman died and the injured persons have been taken to the hospital while the dead body of the woman has been taken to the mortuary.
“The DPO of Alausa, DPO of Isheri, RRS men, LASTMA, road safety corps, Commander State Traffic Unit, CSP Titilayo Oriyomi Oluwasanmi and her personnel were also at the scene. There was no casualty from the second vehicle affected by the crash, a Golf car.
