The police in Katsina State have arrested a man in connection with Friday’s attacks by bandits on two villages in the state where 30 persons were killed and several houses and animals burnt.
The Spokesman for the state police command, SP Gambo Isah, stated this on Saturday. He also said nine motorcycles suspected to belong to the bandits were recovered through the soldiers mobilised to the villages.
The state police commissioner, Sanusi Buba, had after visiting the two villages on Saturday, said security operatives were already after the bandits. At Tsauwa where 21 people were killed, efforts were still being made as of Saturday evening to bury some of the victims. Fumes still emitting from the ruins of burnt houses in the village.
