Supporters of the All Progressives Congress under the aegis of APC Unity Forum in Ondo State, has announced Chief Olusola Oke, as its consensus candidate for the forthcoming governorship election.
Oke was a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Alliance for Democracy in the 2012 and 2016 governorship elections, respectively.
The chairman of the group and former deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, announced the Unity Forum’s choice in a statement issued after the group’s meeting in Akure, on Tuesday. “The Unity Forum, by the content of the report has adopted Chief Olusola Oke, SAN, as the candidate of the forum. All the leaders and members of the Unity Forum are hereby enjoined to begin mobilisation across the state for the candidate of the forum.
Also, the Secretary of the Gubernatorial Aspirants Selection Committee of the forum, Prof. Sola Ehindero, in a statement rejected the idea.
