Akeredolu said agriculture had always been the mainstay of the economy until the government abandoned the sector due to the advent of oil exploration.
Represented by the acting governor, Hon. Lucky Ayedatiwa, he said the government would embrace the full potential in the sector to boost the state economy and create enabling environments for local farmers and exporters for ease of doing business. Addressing investors in the non-oil export sector in Akure, the state capital, the governor promised to Fast-track the Deep Sea Port project in the state to make the exportation of produce easier.
In his presentation on the advantages of non-oil export growth to the Nigerian economy, the head of development finance, CBN Akure, Mr Olumide Adebanjo, said the apex bank and deposit banks are willing to support exporters and local farmers to achieve the development of the cocoa revolution in the state.
