The blame game between the PDP and NigeriaGov is needles. What Nigerians need is how the recovered funds would be utilised based on the agreement reached between Nigeria and the western countries. The $311 million is a huge amount of money.
The mouth-watering funds came barely last year when the Swiss government repatriated another $320 million to the Nigerian government.
However, there are hues and cries that greeted the way and manner with which the previous governments spent the funds, with allegations that they were either misappropriated or looted again. The People’s Democratic Party, , the leading opposition party did not only disagree with the government’s explanation on how the funds were spent, it accused it of maneuvering to cover up or duplicate its sub-head in other to loot the funds again. It also questioned the authenticity of 300,000 names of poor people in government social investment register.Nigerians worry that the recovered funds might vanish like the other unless it is properly monitored and government held accountable.
