Members of Team Nigeria with different colours of masks at the Tokyo 2020 Opening Ceremony Team Nigeria face a race to register athletes for the track and field events of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics which starts on Friday, our correspondent has learnt.

By this, all athletes are expected to have taken three out-of-competition tests before the commencement of the event. One of the athletes in this category – yet to have any test done – is US-based Chioma Onyekwere, who is representing Nigeria in the discus event. “Chioma Onyekwere is not in the Olympics village because you have refused to start the process of testing her. She works for Ford and is in the top 16 and can make it to the finals,” Pat Onyekwere wrote on Facebook on Monday.
