On Saturday, September 21, the people of Edo State will elect a new governor as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, conducts the state’s off-cycle governorship poll.

Following years of active practice, Akpata, in 2023, announced his decision to participate in politics and subsequently resigned from his position as senior partner and Head of the Corporate & Commercial Practice Group of Templars. One of his visions is to revitalize the educational system in Edo, which he describes as a “deplorable state and a disaster.”
