The Oyo State government is yet to announce the date for the coronation of Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland one month after his appointment by the Olubadan-in-Council, DAILY POST reports.
The Olakulehin who hails from Okugbaja lineage in the Ita Baale area of Ibadan North East local government is the current Balogun of Ibadanland. The position of Olubadan of Ibadanland became vacant as a result of the death of the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun. Olakulehin was appointed and nominated as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland by the members of Olubadan-in-Council on Friday, 12th April 2024.
Some of those who spoke with DAILY POST advised the state governor to confirm and announce the date for Olakulehin's coronation without wasting more time. An indigene of Ibadan who asked not to be named advised the governor to confirm Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland without much ado. 'Senator Ladoja has withdrawn his case, Olakulehin has been nominated since, so we don't know what next. The governor should confirm him on time. There is no need to waste more time again.
