The group noted that Dokubo is only playing to the gallery because he was looking for political patronage.
The PUNCH reports that Dokubo after a private meeting with President Bola Tinubu said that ordinary Niger Delta citizens are not responsible for oil theft in the region but powerful cabals within the Nigerian military vowing that these powerful forces have now met their match and many people would soon be marching to Kuje.However, the UAG convener, Mr Ifeanyi Aigbedion in a statement released on Friday accused Dokubo of being economical with the truth.
According to Aigbedion, Dokubo could have gone ahead and lobbied for political patronage without raising unfounded allegations. “Asari Dokubo can meet President Bola Tinubu and offer suggestions on the way forward, if he has it, without raising unfounded allegations at a time the new government is trying to settle down and proffer solutions to the economic crisis in the country.
