The apex Igbo sociocultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has accused a coalition of influential figures, including former Presidents, military leaders, opposition elites, and disgruntled members of the ruling APC, of plotting to derail President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027. The group claims the conspiracy aims to exploit Nigeria's economic challenges, insecurity, and public dissatisfaction with the government to incite unrest and destabilize the administration. Ohanaeze also alleges that some Southeast Governors are involved in the plot, attempting to undermine the FCT Minister, Barr Nyesom Wike, and destabilize Igbo leadership.

The Apex Igbo Sociocultural Organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo , has raised alarm over an alleged political conspiracy targeting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027. The group asserts that this plot is being orchestrated by a coalition of influential figures, including two former Presidents, past military Heads of State, opposition elites, and disgruntled factions within the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC ).

Ohanaeze warned that these forces are exploiting Nigeria's economic challenges, insecurity, and the perceived insensitivity of the Federal Government to incite unrest and destabilize the administration. Of particular concern, the group alleged that Rivers State Governor Siminialayi Fubara and four Southeast Governors have aligned themselves with this conspiracy. They accuse these governors of attempting to undermine the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barr Nyesom Wike, within his home state of Rivers, while also plotting to destabilize the Igbo leadership structure. The group further stated that these governors harbor ulterior motives to draft disillusioned Nigerians—especially the Igbo populace—into their planned political revolutionary movements as we approach the 2025 and 2026 political build-ups leading to the 2027 presidential election. Ohanaeze claims these schemes are designed to cultivate a narrative of dissent that vilifies President Tinubu while positioning the governors as agents of change, cloaked in the guise of concern for the nation's welfare. The group also accused Governor Hope Uzodimma of aligning with opposition forces, recalling his past actions, including his support for former Senate President Ahmad Lawan during the APC primaries. Ohanaeze warned that this coalition, allegedly supported by certain global powers, seeks to create a formidable alliance with Northern political establishments and major ethnic organizations to unseat President Tinubu. Ohanaeze urged President Tinubu to take decisive action to address the economic and security challenges that the groups intend to exploit. The group concluded by appealing to all members of the Igbo community and all patriotic Nigerians to unite against these divisive political machinations that threaten democratic principles and the collective future.
