A filmmaker, Kevwe Ogunje, has said his new movie, ‘To Freedom’, speaks against domestic violence. The movie, which was premiered at a cinema in Lagos on Wednesday, had some notable entertainers in attendance, including Don Jazzy, Agatha Amata, Beverly Osu, Uti Nwachukwu, Pere Egbi, Biodun Stephen, Nazo Ekezie, Eso Dike and Cynthia Shalom.

“The movie is just saying that one can work out of an abusive relationship. People should enjoy the positives in the movie. Domestic violence isn’t good and it’s sometimes not good to take matters into one’s hands. The movie was conceived in 2020 and then we started working on it, months after months until 2022 when Biodun Stephen said it was the right time to shoot it.”

The film, which features Jide Kosoko, Elvina Ibru, Daniel Etim-Effiong, Osas Ighodaro, Eso Dike, Beverly Osu and others, was produced by Kevwe Ogunje, co-produced and written by Tiger Firerose, and directed by Biodun Stephen. The movie focuses on the themes of domestic abuse, obsession, love and other issues.
